The Barn Roof Remodeling Process
The shingles on this twenty-year-old barn in Liberty Hill were severely damaged.Â

The two layers of felt paper beneath could not protect the wood sheathing from this spring’s rains leaking through.

We worked with this homeowner’s insurance carrier and the whole project got underway swiftly.

After we tore the old roof off, we applied synthetic underlay instead of felt paper. If a strong wind tears shingles away, the sheathing beneath will remain protected because synthetic underlayment seals completely against moisture infiltration.

Finally, this homeowner chose to upgrade to Owens Corning’s TruDefinition Duration Estate Gray 30-year laminate shingles over the old 20-year shingles before.

This shingle comes with a 130mph wind rating. So it will protect this barn for a good long time as well as give it a fresh new look.
