The 5 Best Roofing Companies in Leander, TX (2026 Guide)
The short answer
The five best roofing companies in Leander for 2026 are Ark Roofer, KangaRoof, RoofCrafters, Texas Traditions Roofing and Freetail Roofing. All five have zero BBB complaints in three years and a GAF or Owens Corning top tier. Four hold the voluntary Texas RCAT license. Every number was pulled on September 24, 2026.
At 8:47 on the night of May 16, 2025, hail started falling on Leander. By 9:20 the biggest stones were the size of a hockey puck. Three inches across. Crystal Falls, Savanna Ranch, Mason Hills and Travisso all took hits. Twelve days later a second storm ran the same corridor from Liberty Hill through Leander to Cedar Park and dropped hen-egg hail on whatever the first one had missed.
If you live here, you probably remember both. You might also remember what came next: the trucks. Out-of-town plates, yard signs by the dozen, and a knock at the door from a guy who “happened to be working on your neighbor’s house.”
Here is the problem in numbers. Leander grew 54 percent between 2020 and mid-2025 and now sits at about 91,000 people. Roughly two-thirds of its homes went up between 2000 and 2019. That means a big share of the original builder roofs are now 7 to 25 years old. That is prime replacement age in a county that logged 56 hail reports in 2025. Nearly 1,000 Google-listed roofing contractors sit within 30 miles of town. And Texas licenses none of them. Not one. There is no state roofing license, so anyone with a ladder and a pickup can call himself a roofer by lunchtime.
So how do you pick?
Full disclosure before we go further: this is Ark Roofer’s blog, and we put ourselves at number one. We think the numbers back that up, and we will show you every one of them. But we also listed four competitors with their real BBB records, review counts and certifications, because a guide that only says “hire us” isn’t a guide. Read the table, click the sources, then call whoever you trust. We are fine with that.

Every number above was pulled on September 24, 2026 from BBB, Google, GAF and Owens Corning. Complaint counts use BBB’s three-year window. Google counts move every week, so treat them as a snapshot, not scripture.
How we ranked them
We didn't rank on vibes. Five things, in this order.
- BBB record. The letter grade, whether the company is accredited, and how many complaints closed in the last three years. One complaint isn't a death sentence. A pattern is.
- Manufacturer tier. GAF and Owens Corning only hand their top badges (Master Elite, President's Club, Platinum Preferred) to contractors that pass their insurance, licensing and installation checks. Most roofers never get there. It is the closest thing Texas has to a license.
- Google reviews. The rating and the volume. A 5.0 on 40 reviews tells you less than a 4.9 on 500.
- Time in business, and where the trucks park. We wanted companies that are in Leander every week, not once a hailstorm.
- What they can actually handle. Insurance claims, metal, tile, commercial work, and the warranty they will put in writing.
Every company on this list has zero BBB complaints in three years. That bar alone knocked out several of the biggest names in the area, including one with more than 1,000 reviews and 18 complaints. From there, credential tier and review base decided the order.
Ark Roofer
That's usBest for: Hail and insurance claims, full replacements, and paperwork done right the first time
Yes, it is us. Here is the case, and you can check every line of it.
Luke Secora, a fourth-generation contractor, started Ark out of a home office in 2018. Today the company runs 25-plus employees out of an office on Highway 29 in Georgetown, about 25 minutes east of Leander. The crews are in Leander every weekday. A lot of that work is in Crystal Falls, Travisso, Bryson and Larkspur. When a hail cell tracks through, we tend to see the same streets filing claims together.
What we do: Residential and commercial roofing, plus everything that touches the roof: metal, tile, slate and shake, seamless gutters, siding, skylights, attic ventilation, and storm and insurance claims from first photo to final check.
Proof points:
- BBB A+, accredited since October 2019, zero complaints.
- Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor since 2019. That is Owens Corning’s top tier, and it is what lets us offer their strongest warranties.
- At the 2025 Owens Corning Platinum Conference, Ark took the MVP Top Performer award for the Southwest Region. One contractor per region gets it.
- RCAT licensed, license 03-0484. Texas doesn’t require it. We did it anyway.
- 4.9 stars on 515 Google reviews as of this week. 495 of them are five stars.
The thing we would point to first is the ArkCertified inspection. Before anyone quotes you a price, you get 100-plus timestamped photos and video of your roof, attic and exterior, sent to you by live link. The report is yours to keep, even if you hire someone else off this list. Ask the next roofer at your door whether he will put that in writing.
“Jason and his team at ARK roofers were fantastic. They provided a quality inspection of our roof and home following hail damage. Jason made sure to be on premises with the adjuster to walk thru the hail damage. We had many things that we had not noticed such as a window with a crack, garage damage and gutter damage.” Zoi Kondis, Google, February 2025
Strengths
- 2025 Owens Corning MVP Top Performer for the Southwest Region. One contractor per region gets it
- ArkCertified inspection: 100-plus timestamped photos and video by live link, yours to keep
- 495 of 515 Google reviews are five stars. 65 mention claim help and 63 mention the inspection
Keep in mind
- Youngest company on this list
- KangaRoof and Texas Traditions both have more reviews than we do
KangaRoof
Best for: A large, established shop with a 24/7 phone line and a full insurance desk
If you have driven Sam Bass Road you have seen the kangaroo. Scott Feller started the company in 1992, it took the KangaRoof name in 2017, and Stacie Feller runs it today. The office is about 25 minutes from Leander, and they have clearly done the drive a few times. Their Leander page names Bryson, Larkspur, Palmera Ridge, Block House Creek, Crystal Falls, Travisso and Mason Hills, with HOA color notes for each.
Proof points:
- GAF Master Elite and President’s Club, which is GAF’s highest honor for its Master Elite contractors. Also an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor and RCAT licensed.
- BBB A+, zero complaints in three years, accredited since December 2024.
- 4.8 stars on 842 Google reviews, the biggest review base on this list.
They meet the adjuster on your roof and file the supplements. They also install GAF solar shingles, Class 4 shingles, gutters and, oddly enough, garage doors.
“We had three roofing company inspections that all provided documented evidence of storm damage to our 12-year-old Class IV roof. We chose Kanga Roof for the replacement because of good reports from several of our neighbors and were very pleased with the roof replacement!” Ron and Monica Reimer, Google, September 2026
Strengths
- Biggest review base on this list, 842 on Google at 4.8
- Meets the adjuster on your roof and files the supplements
- Leander page names Bryson, Larkspur, Palmera Ridge, Block House Creek, Crystal Falls, Travisso and Mason Hills, with HOA color notes
Keep in mind
- With 842 reviews come 35 one-star ones, about 4 percent. Normal at their volume, but read a few
- BBB accreditation is recent, December 2024, even though the company is 34 years old
RoofCrafters
Best for: Metal roofs, tile, and hiring the company down the street
The only company on this list with a Leander address, and the oldest by a wide margin. RoofCrafters has been a third-generation family shop since 1980, and its office sits at 610 Horizon Park Blvd, just off 183A. It has been BBB accredited since 1988, which is longer than some of the other companies here have existed.
Proof points:
- GAF Master Elite, confirmed on GAF’s own directory. Their site also lists Owens Corning Preferred and CertainTeed Quality Master.
- Member of both RCAT and the National Roofing Contractors Association.
- BBB A+, zero complaints.
- 4.9 stars on 76 Google reviews.
They also do commercial, siding, windows and painting, so one crew can handle the whole exterior after a storm.
“Through the worst of conditions RoofCrafter’s crew worked with professionalism and pride. Never slacking, cutting corners or rushing to get through they completed a great install of my new metal roof. I’ve been in the construction industry almost 50 years and I can’t praise them enough!” Gary Greenblum, Google, July 2026
Strengths
- The only company on this list with a Leander address, and the oldest by a wide margin
- BBB accredited since 1988, longer than some companies here have existed
- Commercial, siding, windows and painting too, so one crew can handle the whole exterior
Keep in mind
- 76 reviews is a small base for a company this old. They just don't chase reviews, so each one carries more weight
- No workmanship warranty term on the site, so ask before you sign
Texas Traditions Roofing
Best for: The longest written workmanship warranty, plus new construction and commercial
Two brothers-in-law, Mike Pickel and Gary Emory, started Texas Traditions in 2014, and in twelve years it has become one of the most-reviewed roofers in Williamson County. The office is on Cedar Drive in Georgetown, and their Leander page lists Crystal Falls, Travisso, Block House Creek, Bar W Ranch and Mason Hills by name.
Proof points:
- GAF Master Elite and President’s Club.
- RCAT licensed and Haag certified. Haag trains inspectors to tell hail damage from plain old wear, which matters when an adjuster is standing on your roof.
- BBB A+, zero complaints.
- 4.9 stars on 428 Google reviews.
- GAF’s Golden Pledge warranty: lifetime coverage on materials with up to 25 years of workmanship coverage, and it transfers if you sell. That is the longest written workmanship coverage on this list.
They also install standing seam metal, tile, F-Wave synthetic shingles and GAF solar shingles, and they handle new construction and commercial roofs.
“Texas Traditions replaced our complete roof and gutters damaged by hail. They made a stressful experience easy, explaining the process and options making sure we had all the info we needed in advance. They helped with the insurance company.” Dee Desj, Google, July 2026
Strengths
- Golden Pledge: lifetime on materials, up to 25 years of workmanship coverage, and it transfers
- Haag certified, which matters when an adjuster is standing on your roof
- Leander page lists Crystal Falls, Travisso, Block House Creek, Bar W Ranch and Mason Hills by name
Keep in mind
- The one company here that isn't BBB accredited, A+ grade and all. It is why they sit at four instead of two
- A three-star review from June 2026 mentions subcontracted crews and material mix-ups, which the owners stepped in and fixed
Freetail Roofing
Best for: Tile roofs, flat and commercial roofs, and a small family crew that still picks up the phone
Michael Kalish’s family has been in Liberty Hill for six generations, and Freetail has been putting roofs on since 2009. The office is on Highway 29 in Liberty Hill, about 15 minutes from north Leander, and the company belongs to the Leander chamber as well as Liberty Hill’s.
Proof points:
- GAF Master Elite, confirmed on GAF’s directory.
- BBB A+, accredited since 2020, zero complaints.
- 5.0 stars on 161 Google reviews. Not one review below five stars.
- Handles residential and commercial, storm damage, tile, flat roofs, gutters and insurance claims.
“Michael and his crew completely redid our tile roof a few years ago. The recent high winds shifted a few tiles, so I called them up. Today, Matthew came by and sorted it all out as a courtesy. I cannot recommend them highly enough.” Simon Luetzelschwab, Google, July 2026
Strengths
- 5.0 stars on 161 Google reviews. Not one review below five stars
- Office on Highway 29 in Liberty Hill, about 15 minutes from north Leander
- Six generations of family in Liberty Hill
Keep in mind
- 161 reviews is the second-smallest base here. A perfect 5.0 usually means a company small enough to know every customer by name
- BBB profile lists an Austin address as the primary one, so ask which crew you are getting
Which roofer fits your situation
Five good companies is still five phone calls. Here is the shortcut.
| Your situation | Call first | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Hail hit and you are filing a claim | Ark Roofer or KangaRoof | Both meet the adjuster on your roof and file supplements. Ark’s 100-photo report was built for exactly this. |
| You want the company that is actually in Leander | RoofCrafters | 46 years, an office off 183A, and the only Master Elite badge with a Leander zip code. |
| You want a metal roof | RoofCrafters, Texas Traditions or Ark | All three install standing seam. Budget roughly double the cost of shingles (numbers below). |
| You care most about the warranty | Texas Traditions | Up to 25 years of workmanship coverage under GAF’s Golden Pledge, and it transfers to the next owner. |
| You have a tile roof | Freetail | They redo tile, they don’t just patch it. Read the review above. |
| Commercial or flat roof | Ark, RoofCrafters or Freetail | All three handle TPO and flat systems. Texas Traditions does commercial and new construction too. |
| You just want a second opinion | Any two of the five | A good roofer hands you a written report and leaves. |
One more thing on that last row. If someone pressures you to sign the day they inspect, that is your answer. None of the five companies above work that way, and after May 2025 you probably met a few that do.

Book a Leander inspectionHow to vet any Leander roofer in ten minutes
Texas has no roofing license. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation doesn’t issue one, and neither does Williamson County or the City of Leander. That is why the checks below matter more here than in most states.
- Look them up on RCAT. The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas runs a voluntary license. To get one, a roofer has to have run a Texas roofing company for at least two years, carry $300,000 in liability insurance, and pass two exams. Search the name at rcat.net. Four of the five companies above hold it.
- Check BBB, then click Complaints. The letter grade is one thing. The complaint history is the useful part. Zero over three years is the bar we used.
- Ask for their manufacturer tier, then verify it yourself. Anybody can put a GAF logo on a truck. Master Elite, President’s Club and Owens Corning Platinum Preferred are all searchable on gaf.com and owenscorning.com.
- Never let anyone “cover” your deductible. Since September 1, 2019, it is a Class B misdemeanor in Texas for a contractor to waive, absorb or rebate your insurance deductible. That is up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine. A roofer who offers is telling you how he does business, and your insurer can hold back the depreciation check until you show proof you paid.
- Never pay in full up front. TDI’s advice, and ours. A deposit for materials is normal. The whole job is not.
- Get a street address, not a P.O. box. Storm chasers follow the hail from town to town. Ask where the office is and drive by it.
- Ask who is pulling the permit. Check with the City of Leander’s Building Inspection department before work starts. Most re-roofs inside the city need a permit, and the roofer should be the one filing it. A roofer who says “you don’t need one” should be able to explain why.
- Ask for Class 4 shingles. UL 2218 Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are what TDI recommends for hail country, and some insurers discount the premium for them (ask your agent). Your HOA can’t block them, either. Texas Property Code 202.011 says an HOA may not prohibit wind- or hail-resistant shingles as long as they match the look of what is already allowed.
