Liberty Hill, Texas, where four out of five homes were built after 2010

The 5 Best Roofing Companies in Liberty Hill, TX (2026 Guide)

The short answer

The five best roofing companies in Liberty Hill for 2026 are Ark Roofer, Texas Traditions Roofing, Freetail Roofing, Action Exteriors and Perennial Roofing. We started with 31 companies and kept the five with a BBB A+, zero complaints in three years, and at least 100 Google reviews. Every number was pulled on September 24, 2026.

Liberty Hill had 967 people in 2010. By the middle of last year the Census Bureau counted 13,317, and Santa Rita Ranch alone sold another 483 homes in 2025. Drive Highway 29 at 7:30 on a weekday morning and you can feel every one of those numbers.

Here is the part nobody mentions at the closing table. Almost all of those roofs went on in a hurry. Inside the city limits, the median home was built in 2017, and about four out of five were built in 2010 or later. Most of them got the same builder-grade shingle, nailed on by whichever crew was free that week. Those roofs are now five to ten years old. That is the age when hail starts finding the weak spots, and when the roof-age schedules insurers now write into Texas policies start to matter.

And the hail does come. On May 16, 2025, three-inch hail (hockey puck size, on the National Weather Service scale) fell in Leander and golf-ball hail fell in Liberty Hill. Twelve days later it happened again. Santa Rita Ranch, Stonewall Ranch, Orchard Ridge and MorningStar all took hits. Back in September 2023, one Sunday-night storm did $600 million in damage across Williamson and Travis counties, the costliest hailstorm in Austin-area history.

So who checks the work when a roofer replaces your roof? In Liberty Hill, nobody. Texas doesn’t license roofers. The City of Liberty Hill doesn’t require a permit for a non-structural re-roof. And if you live outside the city limits, Williamson County has no residential building code at all. The roofer you choose is the inspection. That is why this list exists.

One thing up front: this is Ark Roofer’s blog, and yes, we put ourselves at number one. We are not going to pretend otherwise. What we did instead was pull the numbers anyone can check for every roofer we could find working the 78642: BBB records, live Google reviews, and the GAF and Owens Corning contractor directories. Then we ranked on those numbers. Four of the companies below compete with us for the same driveways. They are on the list because they earned it. If you call one of them instead of us, you will be in good hands.

How we ranked them

We started with every roofer we could find with a Liberty Hill service page, a Liberty Hill address, or a Liberty Hill BBB listing. That was 31 companies. Then we ran each one through five filters, in this order.

  1. BBB record. Rating, whether they bothered to get accredited, and complaints closed in the last three years. Anyone with a complaint on file since 2023 was out. That one rule removed several big names you have seen on yard signs.
  2. Manufacturer standing. GAF Master Elite (GAF says the top 2 percent of roofers) and Owens Corning Platinum Preferred (the top tier Owens Corning offers) counted most. Preferred or Certified counted next. Nothing counted last. The manufacturers check insurance and track record every year, and only these contractors can sell you the long warranties, like the 25-year Golden Pledge or the 50-year Platinum Protection.
  3. Google reviews, pulled live. Rating and volume both. A 5.0 on 30 reviews and a 4.9 on 500 are not the same animal. We set the floor at 100 reviews.
  4. Local roots. A real office in Williamson County, years on the ground here, and whether Liberty Hill neighborhoods show up in their actual reviews rather than just on a page written for Google.
  5. What you actually get. Insurance-claim help, how they document damage, length of the workmanship warranty, and whether they can handle metal and commercial work.

A few things knocked otherwise decent companies off the list. One “Liberty Hill roofer” turned out to be based 90 miles away in Canyon Lake. Three had BBB complaints filed this year. One well-reviewed outfit had 18 complaints in three years. And several never showed up on any manufacturer directory or the RCAT roster, which means nobody outside the company has ever checked their insurance.

Run those five filters and the top spot goes to the one company that clears every one of them at the highest level. We show our work in each profile below.

1

Ark Roofer

That's us
4.9(515 Google reviews)Georgetown, on Hwy 29Est. 20183555 W State Hwy 29512-948-1638

Best for: Storm claims and the 100-photo inspection

Yes, that is us. Luke Secora started Ark out of his house in 2018 with what his dad had taught him about roofs. Eight years and more than 3,000 homes later, the office sits on Highway 29 on the west side of Georgetown. That is the road most of Liberty Hill drives every day. We have put roofs on in Santa Rita Ranch, Rio Ancho and Butler Farms, and we once re-shingled a twenty-year-old barn out here that had taken a beating.

Here is why the numbers put us first. Ark is the only company on this list with all three of these at once: a top-tier manufacturer status, a BBB accreditation with zero complaints, and more than 500 Google reviews. Owens Corning made us a Platinum Preferred Contractor in 2019, a level held by roughly one percent of roofers nationwide. Since then they have given us the Product Excellence Award two years running (2024 and 2025) and named us a 2025 Top Performer. That status is why we can offer the Platinum Protection warranty, which covers materials and labor for up to 50 years. We are also RCAT licensed for both residential and commercial work, so someone besides us has checked our insurance and our exam scores.

The thing customers talk about most, though, is the inspection. Every ArkCertified inspection is free. You get 100-plus timestamped photos and video of your roof, attic, gutters and exterior, sent to your phone as a live link while the inspector is still on the ladder. If you end up filing a hail claim, that file is the documentation your adjuster needs. If you don’t need a roof, you will have the photos that prove it.

“It’s an easy, no pressure process. While doing the inspection on my roof, Brian noticed damage on neighbors roof that they were not aware of and left contact info at their door.” Danna H., Google, April 2026

Strengths

  • The only company here with a top-tier manufacturer status, BBB accreditation with zero complaints, and more than 500 Google reviews
  • Owens Corning Product Excellence Award in 2024 and 2025, and a 2025 Top Performer
  • Free inspection with 100-plus timestamped photos and video sent as a live link while the inspector is still on the ladder

Keep in mind

  • Youngest company in the top four, and the office is in Georgetown, not Liberty Hill
  • Our own workmanship guarantee is five years, shorter than Texas Traditions offers on GAF systems. On a full replacement the Owens Corning Platinum warranty covers labor far longer
  • Owens Corning Platinum Preferred
  • RCAT license 03-0484
  • Hail and wind claims
  • Duration shingles and metal
  • Gutters and siding
2

Texas Traditions Roofing

4.9(428 Google reviews)GeorgetownEst. 2014508 Cedar Dr(512) 415-4590www.texastraditionsroofing.com

Best for: GAF systems and a 25-year workmanship warranty

If you want a GAF roof, this is the company to call, and we would say that even if they weren’t ten minutes from our office. Texas Traditions has been GAF Master Elite for years and has made GAF’s President’s Club, the award layer above Master Elite. Georgetown voted them Best Roofer three years running (2023, 2024, 2025), and the Georgetown Chamber named them 2025 Small Business of the Year. When the April 2025 hail hit south Georgetown, it was their president, Michael Pickel, that CBS Austin called for a damage estimate.

The practical reason to pick them is the warranty. As a Master Elite contractor they can register the GAF Golden Pledge on a full replacement. That is lifetime coverage on materials and up to 25 years on workmanship, and it transfers to the next owner. That is the longest labor coverage on this list. They are also Haag certified for storm inspection, which carries weight with adjusters. And their Liberty Hill page reads like they have actually been here, right down to the acreage roofs along Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

“I needed a minor repair and it was completed the next day at a very reasonable price. We’ve used them twice and neither time have they pressured us into replacing our roof.” Brad P., Google, summer 2026

On paper, the missing accreditation and about 90 fewer Google reviews are all that separate them from the top spot. In practice it changes nothing about the work.

Strengths

  • Golden Pledge on a full replacement: lifetime on materials, up to 25 years on workmanship, and it transfers
  • Georgetown's Best Roofer 2023, 2024 and 2025, and the Chamber's 2025 Small Business of the Year
  • Haag certified for storm inspection, which carries weight with adjusters

Keep in mind

  • A+ and a clean complaint file, but never enrolled as a BBB accredited business
  • About 90 fewer Google reviews than the top spot
  • GAF Master Elite
  • GAF Golden Pledge
  • Haag certified
  • Standing seam metal
3

Freetail Roofing

5.0(161 Google reviews)Liberty Hill, on Hwy 29Est. 200913800 W State Hwy 29, Suite D(512) 299-6576freetailroofing.com

Best for: Honest repairs, second opinions, and flat or commercial roofs

Freetail is the only company on this list with both a Liberty Hill office and a top-tier manufacturer badge. Their shop is right on Highway 29 and they belong to the Liberty Hill Chamber. GAF lists them as Master Elite, the same 2 percent club Texas Traditions is in. Owner Michael Kalish has been on roofs for more than 30 years, and the reviews read like it. A lot of them are about repairs, not replacements, which tells you something.

Read through their Google reviews and a pattern shows up. Homeowner gets a knock on the door after a storm, gets told they need a new roof, calls Freetail for a second opinion, and Freetail says no, you don’t, here is the small fix. One reviewer in May 2024 woke up to a drip in his kitchen and braced for a $15,000 bill. Their tech found a raised nail, patched it, and left him with a handful of screws and caulk. That is the kind of story that builds a 5.0 rating slowly. They also do flat roofs, TPO, modified bitumen and coatings, which most residential outfits around here won’t touch.

“He confirmed that while the roof was older, it did not need to be replaced yet. He did find a few small holes and he caulked them. For free.” Steven R., Google, June 2024

Strengths

  • The only company here with both a Liberty Hill office and a top-tier manufacturer badge
  • Reviews full of people who were told no, you don't need a new roof
  • Flat roofs, TPO, modified bitumen and coatings, which most residential outfits won't touch

Keep in mind

  • 161 reviews is about a third of the volume of the two companies above them
  • Started in Austin. The BBB file still lists an Austin headquarters, and the BBB shows the business starting in 2011
  • GAF Master Elite
  • Repairs and second opinions
  • TPO and modified bitumen
  • Liberty Hill Chamber member
4

Action Exteriors

4.9(328 Google reviews)Ranch Road 2243, LeanderEst. 20057200 Ranch Road 2243(512) 844-1802actionroofingaustin.com/locations/liberty-hill-tx

Best for: Whole-exterior storm restoration: roof, siding, and gutters

Action has been roofing Liberty Hill longer than anyone else on this list. Michael Smola’s family-owned crew has been at it since 2005 out of a shop on Ranch Road 2243. The BBB has had them accredited since 2007. That is a long time to keep a complaint file empty. The company recently rebranded to Action Exteriors, which fits, because roofing is only part of what they do. Siding, windows, gutters, fences and decks are all in-house.

That breadth is the reason to call them after a big storm. When hail takes out the roof, the gutters and the west-facing siding in one night, you want one contractor writing one scope for one adjuster. Look at what people mention in their Google reviews: insurance claim help comes up 81 times, more than any other topic. They are an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, one step below Platinum, and they also install TAMKO and GAF.

“Our house was built in 2015 and within 2 years had some wind damage on the roof. I called the original roofing company that the builder used and they would not honor any warranty. Super easy to work with and very reasonable.” Gil E., Google

Strengths

  • Roofing Liberty Hill longer than anyone else on this list, BBB accredited since 2007
  • Insurance claim help comes up 81 times in their Google reviews, more than any other topic
  • Siding, windows, gutters, fences and decks all in-house, so one scope for one adjuster

Keep in mind

  • Preferred is not Platinum, so the longest Owens Corning warranty isn't on the menu
  • Two names for a while: the old site says Action Roofing and Construction, Google and the BBB say Action Exteriors. Same people, same building
  • Owens Corning Preferred
  • Siding, windows and gutters
  • Insurance claim help
  • Family owned since 2005
5

Perennial Roofing

5.0(129 Google reviews)Liberty HillEst. 2023233 County Road 214(512) 591-6203perennialroofing.com

Best for: Hand-nailed installs and a free Class 4 upgrade

Perennial is the new kid, and they have made the most of three years. Logan Hester and Jacob Lapuszynski opened the doors in July 2023, got BBB accredited by October, and have stacked up 129 Google reviews at a flat 5.0. Veteran owned, based off County Road 214, and they hand-nail every shingle, which almost nobody does anymore because it is slower than a gun.

Two things stand out. First, they include a Class 4 impact-resistant shingle upgrade at no charge on replacements. A Class 4 roof is what earns the biggest hail discount Texas insurers offer. Second, they will go rounds with an insurance company. One of their reviewers this summer described a claim the carrier tried to close as a patch job. Perennial spent months documenting why it needed a full replacement, and won. If you want metal, they install F-Wave, McElroy, Mueller and Decra.

“Austin helped me with my roof inspection after a hail storm had passed by. He explained what made Perennial different and also walked me through the whole process with dealing with insurance.” Kyle C., Google, September 2026

Ask who, specifically, will be on your roof.

Strengths

  • Class 4 impact-resistant shingle upgrade at no charge on replacements
  • Will go rounds with an insurance company. One reviewer's patch-job claim became a full replacement
  • 129 Google reviews at a flat 5.0 in three years

Keep in mind

  • Three years old means no roof they have installed has seen more than three Texas summers
  • No GAF or Owens Corning tier, so the manufacturer-backed labor warranties aren't available. The site also lists Dallas, Houston and the Coastal Bend, a wide footprint for a company this young
  • Veteran owned
  • Hand-nailed shingles
  • Free Class 4 upgrade
  • F-Wave, McElroy, Mueller and Decra metal

Which roofer fits your situation

How to vet any roofer in Liberty Hill (including us)

Maybe you have got a cousin’s buddy who does roofs. Fine. Run him through the same eight checks. They take about 20 minutes, and every one of them is free.

  1. Look them up on the RCAT roster. Texas has no state roofing license, so the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas runs a voluntary one instead. Licensed contractors passed roofing, business and safety exams and proved their insurance. Search the name at web.rcat.net. If they are not there, ask why.
  2. Check the manufacturer directory yourself. Anyone can put a GAF or Owens Corning logo on a truck. Type the company name into the contractor locator on gaf.com or owenscorning.com and see what tier comes back, if any.
  3. Pull the BBB file. Rating, accreditation date, and complaints in the last three years. Read the complaints. A resolved dispute over a color match is different from an unanswered complaint about money.
  4. Get the insurance certificate sent from the agent, not the roofer. You want general liability at minimum. Texas doesn’t require workers’ comp, so ask whether they carry it. If a crew member falls off your roof and they don’t, guess whose homeowner’s policy gets the call.
  5. Drive past the address. A Williamson County office you can walk into means someone to find in year three when a flashing leaks. A P.O. box or a Canyon Lake area code does not.
  6. Never let anyone touch your deductible. Since September 1, 2019, it is a Class B misdemeanor in Texas for a contractor to waive, absorb or rebate your insurance deductible. Up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine. Your insurer can also hold back the depreciation check until you prove you paid it. If a roofer offers, the Texas Department of Insurance says find another roofer, and you can report it to the Attorney General at 800-621-0508.
  7. Get three written bids on letterhead. That is straight from TDI. Each should name the shingle line, the underlayment, the ice-and-water barrier locations, the drip edge, the ventilation plan and who registers the warranty. Don’t sign anything with blank spaces, and don’t sign a contract that says you agree to repairs “for the value of insurance proceeds.”
  8. Ask to see the photos. Before and after. Roof, attic, flashing, valleys. A roofer who won’t show you the inspection didn’t do one.

One more thing that surprises people. Inside Liberty Hill city limits, a non-structural re-roof doesn’t need a permit. Outside the limits, Williamson County has no residential building code at all. Nobody from the government is coming to look at the work. Checks 1 and 2 are the only outside eyes your roof will ever get.

Liberty Hill roofing questions we get every week

How much does a new roof cost in Liberty Hill?
Angi's Austin-area figure, updated July 2026, is $10,295 on average, with most jobs landing between $6,355 and $14,484. Asphalt shingles run about $4 to $6 per square foot installed; metal and tile run $7 to $11. For a typical two-story in Santa Rita Ranch with a 2,500-square-foot roof, one Austin roofer's published 2026 pricing puts architectural shingles at $12,500 to $19,500. Standing seam metal is roughly double. Pitch, layers to tear off and decking repairs move the number more than the shingle brand does.
When is hail season in Liberty Hill?
April and May. In the National Weather Service reports within ten miles of Liberty Hill, May has produced more hail reports than any other month going back to 2004. But the calendar isn't a guarantee. The costliest storm in Austin-area history hit on a Sunday night in late September. See the recent hail table above.
Does Texas license roofers?
No. There is no state roofing license in Texas, which is why the RCAT program exists. It is voluntary, and it requires exams, proof of insurance and yearly continuing education. Liberty Hill adds no backstop of its own: the city lists non-structural roof covering among the projects that don't need a permit, and unincorporated Williamson County has no residential building code.
Will my insurance cover hail damage?
A standard Texas homeowner's policy covers hail, but three things have changed on most policies. Wind and hail now carry their own deductible, and 2 percent of the dwelling limit is the norm, so a $400,000 house means the first $8,000 is yours. Many carriers now pay only actual cash value on roofs past a certain age, often 10 to 15 years. And cosmetic-damage exclusions are common. One thing got better: policies issued or renewed after January 1, 2026 must include an appraisal clause, so you have a path when you and the carrier disagree on the number. See our appraisal process page.
How long does a roof last in Texas heat?
Less than the box says. Manufacturers rate architectural shingles at 25 to 30 years. Roofers here plan for closer to 20, and one of the companies on this list publishes 20 years right in its own materials chart. Standing seam metal goes 40 to 60. The single biggest factor you control is attic ventilation. An August attic here runs far hotter than the air outside, and it cooks shingles from underneath.
Do Class 4 shingles really lower my premium?
Usually, yes. The Texas Department of Insurance says a Class 4 roof covering gets the highest premium credit an insurer offers for impact resistance, but each company sets its own amount. Your roofer fills out TDI form PC068 (or your insurer's version) after the install. Contractors around here quote discounts of roughly 10 to 30 percent. Call your agent and get your carrier's number before you choose a shingle.

Start with the free 100-photo inspection

Say your roof went on with the house in Santa Rita Ranch, Orchard Ridge, Rio Ancho or Butler Farms sometime between 2016 and 2021. It has now been through the May 2025 hail and five or more Texas summers. That is the window where a look is worth an hour of your time.

An ArkCertified inspection is free. One of our inspectors walks your roof, attic, gutters and exterior, takes 100-plus timestamped photos and video, and sends you a live link while he is still on site. No pressure and no sales pitch on the driveway. If we find nothing wrong, you will have the photos that say so and we will see you after the next storm. If we find hail damage, you will have exactly what your adjuster needs.
