The 5 Best Roofing Companies in Round Rock, TX (2026 Guide)

The short answer

The five best roofing companies in Round Rock for 2026 are Ark Roofer, KangaRoof, Texas Traditions Roofing, Summit Roofing and Longhorn Roofing. All five hold a BBB A+ and a manufacturer certification, and four have zero BBB complaints in three years. Every number was checked on September 24, 2026.

On the night of September 24, 2023, hail the size of baseballs came down on Round Rock. Some of it was bigger. Storm spotters logged stones up to 4 inches across near the city, about the size of a grapefruit. By noon two days later, State Farm alone was working 6,700 home and auto claims from the Round Rock area. When the National Weather Service added it all up, the damage came to about $600 million, half of it in Williamson County. It was the costliest hailstorm in Austin-area history.

Then it happened again. On April 22, 2025, baseball-size hail hit Teravista and east Round Rock, and one storm-tracking firm counted close to 29,000 structures in the path. Texas led the country in major hail events last year with 902 of them. If you own a house here, you will deal with a roofer eventually. The only real question is who.

That question is harder than it sounds. Texas does not license roofers. Anyone with a ladder and a pickup can print business cards, and after every big storm, a lot of them do. Search the Better Business Bureau for roofing contractors near Round Rock and you get more than 6,700 results. Some are excellent. Some will be gone before your warranty is.

So we went through the numbers. BBB ratings and complaint records. Google reviews. Manufacturer certifications, which are the closest thing Texas has to a roofing license. Years in business. What each company actually installs, and what they will put in writing.

One thing to say up front: this is Ark Roofer’s blog, and we put ourselves at number one. You would expect that. But every other company on this list earned its spot, their real numbers sit right next to ours, and we tell you where they beat us. If you read this and call one of them instead, you still made a good call. That is the whole point.

We checked every figure on September 24, 2026 against each company’s BBB profile and its GAF or Owens Corning contractor page. Complaint counts use BBB’s three-year window. Review counts change every week, so read them as a snapshot, not scripture.

How we ranked them

A lot of best-roofer lists are pay-to-play. Ours isn't. Nobody on this page paid to be here, and every one of these companies competes with us for the same Round Rock jobs. We ranked on five things, in this order.

  1. BBB record. The letter grade matters less than the complaint file. A company with zero complaints in three years has handled hundreds of jobs without one person mad enough to file. That is hard to fake.
  2. Manufacturer certification. GAF and Owens Corning only hand their top tier to roofers who pass insurance checks, install to spec, and keep customers happy. GAF says about 2 percent of roofers reach Master Elite. Platinum Preferred is Owens Corning's highest level. In a state with no roofing license, this is the closest thing to one.
  3. Google reviews. Both the star rating and the count. A 4.9 from 40 people means less than a 4.8 from 800.
  4. Time and place. Years in business, and a real office you can drive to. Storm chasers don't have one.
  5. What they install and what they promise. Shingle, metal, tile, flat commercial, and the workmanship warranty in writing.

Every number in this guide came from a page we opened ourselves, and the sources are listed at the bottom.

1

Ark Roofer

That's us
4.8(562 Google reviews)GeorgetownEst. 20183555 W State Hwy 29512-948-1638

Best for: Hail claims, whole-exterior jobs, and anyone who wants proof before they sign

Luke Secora started Ark Roofer out of his house in 2018 with one other person. Eight years later the company has more than 25 employees, an office on Highway 29 in Georgetown, and over 3,200 Central Texas homes on the books. Round Rock has been part of that from the start, with steady work in Forest Creek, Teravista, Paloma Lake, and out toward Anderson Mill.

The credential that matters most is the Owens Corning one. Platinum Preferred is the top of that program, and Ark has held it since 2019. In 2025, Owens Corning named Ark a Top Performer MVP at its 20th annual Platinum conference. That award goes to Platinum contractors for performance, growth, and market leadership.

The thing customers talk about most, though, is the inspection. Every Ark inspection comes with one hundred timestamped photos of your roof, attic, and exterior, sent to your phone whether you hire us or not. No cost, no obligation. If you file an insurance claim, an Ark rep can be on the roof when the adjuster shows up and walk them through the same photos. We don’t read your policy or act as a public adjuster. We document, and we let the documentation argue.

Ark installs asphalt shingle (Owens Corning Oakridge, Duration, and Duration STORM), standing seam and R-panel metal, synthetic slate and shake, Spanish tile, and flat commercial systems. The same crews also do VELUX skylights, seamless gutters, James Hardie siding, exterior painting, and attic ventilation. That matters after a hailstorm, when the roof is rarely the only thing that got hit.

Warranty: 5-year Ark workmanship guarantee on every job. On qualifying Owens Corning systems, the Platinum Protection warranty covers materials and labor for up to 50 years. Financing runs through Hearth with 17 lenders, and pre-qualifying doesn’t touch your credit score.

“Luke and Josh with Ark Roofer saved my butt! They jousted with the insurance company and got them to pay up.” Ryan S., Round Rock

Strengths

  • Owens Corning Platinum Preferred since 2019, and a 2025 Top Performer MVP
  • Every inspection comes with 100 timestamped photos, free, whether you hire us or not
  • Roof, gutters, James Hardie siding, paint and attic ventilation from the same crews

Keep in mind

  • Youngest company on this list, with fewer Google reviews than KangaRoof or Summit
  • Our written workmanship warranty is 5 years. The long labor coverage comes through the Owens Corning system warranty, so ask which system you are getting
  • Owens Corning Platinum Preferred
  • RCAT license 03-0484
  • Hail claims
  • Metal, tile and synthetic slate
  • Commercial TPO

KangaRoof

4.8(842 Google reviews)Round RockEst. 2000callkangaroof.com

Best for: A GAF system with the Golden Pledge warranty from a company ten minutes away

If you have lived in Round Rock more than a year, you have seen the kangaroo. Scott and Stacie Feller run KangaRoof out of an office on Sam Bass Road, and the family says it has been roofing here since 1992. The BBB lists the current business as starting in 2000. Either way, it is the most-reviewed roofer with a Round Rock address, and the reviews are good: 842 of them on Google at a 4.8.

KangaRoof is a GAF shop. Master Elite plus President’s Club means GAF has checked their insurance, their installs, and their customer record. It also lets them sell the Golden Pledge warranty. That one carries up to 25 years of workmanship coverage, backed by GAF rather than the roofer. They are also a certified FORTIFIED Roof installer, which matters if your insurer offers a credit for it. They took home a Best of Round Rock award in 2025.

Services cover shingle and metal replacement, repair, commercial, gutters, storm inspections, and insurance help. KangaRoof installs garage doors too, which is unusual for a roofer and handy after a hailstorm. No tile, siding, or solar on the menu.

“Great experience from start to finish. Crew was pleasant, hardworking, paid attention to detail. These guys delivered!” Tom P., BBB review, August 2024

In fairness, they publish their own list of the top roofers in Central Texas. They put Ark first. We are not going to argue with them.

Strengths

  • Most-reviewed roofer with a Round Rock address, 842 Google reviews at 4.8
  • Golden Pledge warranty, up to 25 years of workmanship coverage backed by GAF
  • Best of Round Rock award in 2025

Keep in mind

  • BBB accreditation only dates to December 2024, much newer than the company
  • No tile, siding or solar
  • GAF Master Elite
  • RCAT license 03-0398
  • FORTIFIED Roof installer
  • Garage doors

Texas Traditions Roofing

4.9(428 Google reviews)GeorgetownEst. 2014www.texastraditionsroofing.com

Best for: The longest written labor warranty on a shingle roof, and hail claims with a Haag-certified inspector

When CBS Austin needed someone to size up the damage the morning after the April 2025 hailstorm, they called Mike Pickel of Texas Traditions. He guessed 40,000 to 50,000 homes. That is the kind of local read you get from a company that has worked Williamson County roofs for twelve years. Pickel runs the company with his brother-in-law Gary Emory from an office on Cedar Drive in Georgetown. Their Round Rock page names neighborhoods by ZIP code, not by county.

The warranty is the standout. Texas Traditions puts up to 25 years of labor coverage in writing on GAF Master Elite systems, the longest stated labor warranty on this list. They run Haag-certified inspectors, the same storm damage training many insurance adjusters go through. Texas Traditions also installs GAF Timberline Solar shingles for people who want solar without panels bolted on top.

They have been named Georgetown’s Best Roofer three years running, 2023 through 2025, and the Georgetown Chamber named them its 2025 Small Business of the Year.

“Very professional, got the job done quickly and efficiently, mindful of my property.” Brenda Walker, customer review

Strengths

  • Up to 25 years of labor coverage in writing on GAF Master Elite systems
  • Georgetown's Best Roofer three years running, 2023 through 2025
  • Georgetown Chamber 2025 Small Business of the Year

Keep in mind

  • Not BBB accredited. Accreditation is a paid membership, not a grade, so the A+ and zero complaints still stand
  • Site lists shingle and solar shingle systems but no metal or tile
  • GAF Master Elite
  • RCAT licensed
  • Haag-certified inspectors
  • GAF Timberline Solar shingles
4

Summit Roofing

4.9(716 Google reviews)Round RockEst. 2019www.summitrooftexas.com

Best for: Hail claim re-roofs with a lifetime workmanship warranty in writing, and small commercial flat roofs

Summit is the storm specialist on this list, and they say so themselves: about 95 percent of their work is re-roofing after hail or wind damage. Bradley Bohac started the company in 2019, and it has grown fast from an office on Sunrise Road. Seven years in, Summit has 716 Google reviews at a 4.9, more than anyone here except KangaRoof.

Like Ark, Summit is Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, and they picked up an Owens Corning Excellence Award in 2025. In May 2026 they added FORTIFIED contractor status. The warranty is the headline, though. Summit puts a transferable lifetime workmanship warranty on every roof. They also throw in three years of their RoofCare maintenance program at no charge. They carry $2 million in liability coverage plus workers’ comp, and they are bonded.

The commercial side is deeper than most residential-first roofers. Summit installs TPO, PVC, EPDM, built-up, and standing seam metal, and they do solar panel installs too.

“Excellent communication, workmanship and professionalism at every step of the process. Highly recommend Summit.” Erica G., BBB review, August 2024

Strengths

  • Transferable lifetime workmanship warranty on every roof, plus three years of RoofCare maintenance
  • Owens Corning Excellence Award in 2025, FORTIFIED status in May 2026
  • $2 million in liability coverage, workers' comp, and bonded

Keep in mind

  • One BBB complaint in three years, from April 2025, about a rep knocking on a door with a no-soliciting sign. Closed, and it says nothing about their roofs. It does say they canvass after storms
  • Owens Corning Platinum Preferred
  • RCAT license 01-0591
  • FORTIFIED contractor
  • TPO, PVC and EPDM
  • Solar panels
5

Longhorn Roofing

4.9(104 Google reviews)North Austin (78717)Est. 1985www.austinlonghornroofing.com

Best for: A straightforward shingle or metal roof from a company that was here before most of Round Rock's subdivisions

Longhorn Roofing has been BBB accredited since 1989. That is longer than some of the other companies on this list have existed, and their BBB complaint file is empty. The office sits on Navigator Drive in 78717, right on the Round Rock line, and Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, and Pflugerville are all on their service list.

This is a residential-only, old-school shop. Longhorn does composition shingle, metal, and cool-roof shingles, plus repair, flashing, ventilation, and storm work. No commercial, no gutters, no solar, and no financing page. The crews claim more than a hundred years of combined experience. Given the founding date, that is believable.

“Great job completed in one day! Excellent cleanup of debris after job. Would definitely recommend them.” Debbie Clifford Derr, Facebook review

The small review count and the lower certification tier are worth weighing against the 41-year track record. Neither is a red flag.

Strengths

  • BBB accredited since 1989 with an empty complaint file
  • Office on Navigator Drive, right on the Round Rock line
  • Crews claim more than a hundred years of combined experience

Keep in mind

  • Fewest Google reviews here by a wide margin
  • Manufacturer certifications sit a tier below the top four. No commercial, gutters, solar, or financing
  • Residential only
  • Composition shingle
  • Metal
  • Cool-roof shingles

Which Round Rock roofer fits your situation

Rankings are one thing. The right roofer for you depends on what is on your roof and why you are calling. Here is how we would sort it.

How to vet any roofer in Round Rock (including us)

Texas does not license roofing contractors. The state agency that licenses electricians and air conditioning contractors has no roofing program at all. So the checking falls to you. Here is the ten-minute version.

  1. Ask for their RCAT number and look it up. The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas runs a voluntary license. To get one, a roofer needs two years running a Texas roofing company and $300,000 in liability insurance for residential work. They also have to pass trade and business exams. Search the number at rcat.net. Ark’s is 03-0484.
  2. Get the insurance certificate from the agent, not the roofer. Ask for general liability and workers’ comp, sent directly from the insurance agent’s office. A photocopy from a truck proves nothing.
  3. Check the manufacturer’s site, not the yard sign. GAF and Owens Corning both have contractor locators. If a company claims Master Elite or Platinum Preferred and is not listed, walk away.
  4. Run from anyone who offers to “take care of” your deductible. Since September 1, 2019, it has been a Class B misdemeanor in Texas for a contractor to waive, pay, absorb, or offset an insurance deductible. That is up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine. Your insurer can also hold back the depreciation check until you prove you paid it. A roofer who offers anyway just told you how they treat paperwork.
  5. Never pay in full up front. The Texas Department of Insurance says this in plain words. A deposit for materials is normal. The whole job before a shingle comes off is not.
  6. Get a local address you could drive to. Storm chasers follow the hail. They knock the week after, quote fast, and their warranty leaves when they do. Every company on this list has a Williamson County or North Austin office you can visit.
  7. Don’t sign anything with blanks in it, and don’t sign over your claim. An “assignment of benefits” hands your insurance payout to the contractor. The BBB warns against it.
  8. Ask about drip edge. Round Rock does not require a permit for a plain residential re-roof, but the city code does require drip edge. A roofer who skips it is telling you what else they skip.

Round Rock roofing questions we get every week

How much does a new roof cost in Round Rock?
Angi's Austin-area figure, updated July 2026, is an average of $10,295, with asphalt shingle roofs running $8,000 to $12,000 and metal running $14,000 to $22,000. Local Round Rock price guides land in the same range: about $10,000 to $16,000 for architectural shingles on a 1,500 to 2,200 square foot home, and $17,000 to $28,000 for metal. Roof pitch, decking repairs, and the number of layers to tear off move the number more than the shingle brand does.
When is hail season in Round Rock?
March through early June, with the worst of it in April and May. That is when Central Texas sees most of its severe weather. The fall gets a second, smaller round in September and October. The September 24, 2023 storm was a fall storm, and it was the costliest in Austin-area history, so don't put the ladder away in June.
Does Texas license roofing contractors?
No. Texas has no state roofing license, which is why it is on the list of things to check above. The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas offers a voluntary license that requires insurance, experience, and an exam. A roofer with an RCAT number chose to be checked. One without it may still be fine, but you are doing all the checking yourself.
Does homeowners insurance cover hail damage in Texas?
Most Texas home policies cover wind and hail, but with a separate wind and hail deductible. It is usually a percentage of your dwelling coverage, not a flat dollar amount. On a $400,000 house, a 2 percent deductible is $8,000 out of pocket before insurance pays anything. Check the declarations page of your policy before you file, and remember that by law, you pay that deductible, not the roofer.
How long does a roof last in Round Rock?
Shorter than the shingle wrapper says. Architectural asphalt shingles are rated for 25 to 30 years, but Central Texas attics hit 150 degrees in August and local roofers see 18 to 25 years in practice. Standing seam metal runs 40 to 60 years. In Round Rock, hail usually retires a roof before age does, which is why a free inspection after every big storm is worth the twenty minutes.
Do Class 4 impact-resistant shingles lower my insurance bill?
Often, but the amount is up to your insurer. The Texas Department of Insurance says each company sets its own discount for UL 2218 Class 4 roofing. Ask your agent for the exact credit before you choose a shingle, then decide whether the upgrade pays for itself. Owens Corning Duration STORM, which Ark installs, carries the Class 4 rating.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Round Rock?
Not for a standard re-roof. The City of Round Rock does not require a permit unless the roof structure itself changes. The city does require drip edge on every re-roof. If a roofer says they need to charge you for a Round Rock permit on a simple shingle replacement, ask them which one.
