What is the correct ratio for attic ventilation?
The building industry standard is the “1/300 Rule.” You need 1 square foot of net free ventilating area (NFVA) for every 300 square feet of enclosed attic space. Crucially, this ventilation must be balanced: 50% intake air near the bottom of the roof (soffits) and 50% exhaust air near the peak (ridge vents).
Can I have too much attic exhaust ventilation?
